Our Staff


Angela Bilich, Chiropodist, B.Sc. (Hons), D.Ch. Chiropodist

Education & Training: Angela Bilich graduated as an Academic All-Canadian from Queen's University in Kingston with an honours degree in life science. She then continued her post-secondary education at The Michener Institute in Toronto, graduating as the Gold Medal Recipient of her class with a diploma in chiropody.

Areas of Practice: Angela enjoys practising the full scope of chiropody and treating a variety of patients. She has a strong interest in diabetic foot care and ingrown toenails, recently furthering her education in toenail bracing. 

When not at work, you will find Angela at the hockey rink or walking her favourite bulldog.

Michael Doherty, Registered Chiropodist, D.Ch.
Education & Training: Michael started his chiropody training at the Michener Institute of Medical Technology in Toronto, 26 years ago. Having a background in science and kinesiology from university allowed for a smooth transition into chiropody. After graduation, Michael completed advanced training courses in MRI and X-ray imaging, diabetic wound care, lower extremity compression therapy for venous insufficiency, and several advanced biomechanical courses. Michael is in the process of completing custom knee bracing, acupuncture training.

Areas of Practice: Michael’s main practice specializes in treatment and prevention of injuries that are the result of biomechanical problems. To help people regain and maintain proper joint position, function and stability, Michael uses orthotics, orthopedic footwear, ankle and knee bracing, and proper stretching. 

Michael has been involved in sports all his life. He is a rugby and hockey fan and still enjoys Thursday night hockey games with “the boys”. Michael likes to spend time with his family by travelling, skiing, mountain biking, movie watching, dog walking and being a full-time “dance dad” and “soccer dad” to two fantastic daughters.

Donna Kowaliw, Registered Massage Therapist (RMT)
Education & Training: Donna received her massage therapy certification from Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy and Teaching Clinic in 1997.

Areas of Practice: Trigger point therapy, Deep tissue massage and Swedish massage. She is very effective in treating many musculoskeletal conditions, postural dysfunctions, overuse injuries, chronic pain syndromes, and in reducing stress and tension. 

She has always worked in multidisciplinary clinics and maintains a focus in therapeutic massage. She genuinely cares about her clients’ health and wellbeing and customizes the massage treatments based on individual needs. She looks forward to assisting with the healing journey and helping all clients meet their own goals. In addition to her work as a massage therapist, she enjoys travel, photography, and nature.

Jenna LaFleche, RMT

Education and Training: Jenna is a graduate of the Canadian College of Massage Therapy (Toronto campus) and is registered in good standing with the CMTO. She began her massage therapy education in 2009 while studying abroad in Munich, Germany at the Staatliche Berufsfachschule für Massage am Klinikum (Großhadern campus). This unique experience has given her an immersive education in the science and art of therapeutic massage. In both Canada and in Europe, she’s had the opportunity to work with many different clients from all walks of life, helping her to better understand the healing process and further develop her skills in the nature of pain management, manual therapy, connective tissue therapy, and therapeutic exercise. The most fundamental aspects to Jenna, with regard to massage therapy, are understanding body awareness and the crucial effect that awareness has on our perception of pain, and in turn, our healing in day-to-day life.

In her spare time, Jenna enjoys yoga, weightlifting, cooking, gardening, meditation, and painting. She is an initiate of the Vajrayana School of Tibetan Buddhism and has certification in Reiki Level I and Thai Table Massage, both of which she incorporates into her massage therapy sessions.

Jenna plans to expand her skillset and knowledge through continuing education and has a specific interest in manual lymphatic drainage, Thai yoga massage, connective tissue therapy (German: Bindegewebstherapie), fascial manipulation, structural integration, and craniosacral therapy.

Todd MacNutt, Registered Physiotherapist, B.Sc.P.T., M Physio (Sport)
Education & Training: Todd completed his Master of Sports Physiotherapy degree at the University of Melbourne in 2003. Between graduating from the University of Alberta’s physical therapy program in 1993 and obtaining his master’s degree, Todd worked in a variety of clinical settings, including time in sports medicine clinics and in his own sports therapy practice. Along the way, Todd obtained certification in Cyriax techniques, training in acupuncture and has worked with the Melbourne Demons of the AFL and Victoria Giants of the NBL. Todd has also been a member of the faculty at Trios College in Oshawa, as an Instructor in the PTA/OTA and medical reception programs.

Areas of Practice: Todd practises in the areas of orthopaedics and sports injury. Todd uses manual therapy techniques, exercise therapy, and modalities to maximize his clients’ recovery and prepare them for their return to full activity.

Todd has been a Jr. C hockey trainer, assistant coach for high school rugby, Ontario Summer games medical team member, and (when requested) a speaker on injury prevention at the Running Room.

Megan Shaw, Registered Physiotherapist, Fully Certified in Advanced Acupuncture, Clinic Manager, B.Sc.P.T., B.A., CAFCI, MCPA
Education & Training: Megan Shaw graduated from Queen’s University with a degree in physiotherapy after her undergraduate degree in Biopsychology from the University of Western Ontario. Megan is fully certified in Advanced Acupuncture, completing her training and certification through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute. Megan thoroughly enjoys the challenge of complex treatments, so Megan keeps her skills up to date by seeking out post-graduate courses and workshops in oncology, palliative care, persistent pain management, fall prevention, musculoskeletal injuries, McKenzie techniques and modalities.

Areas of Practice: Musculoskeletal, motor vehicle accidents, balance and proprioception, oncology and palliative care, persistent pain, pediatrics, and gerontology.

Megan finds acupuncture a major asset and a wonderful treatment option for those patients with complex medical histories or injuries sustained in motor vehicle accidents, as well as those patients requiring in-home physiotherapy. Megan is the clinic manager and the clinical education co-ordinator for the clinic, regularly providing UOIT students with co-op placements and students wishing to pursue careers in physiotherapy with valuable experience in the field.

When Megan is not treating patients she enjoys the hectic schedules of her three daughters, who are competitive athletes. She also enjoys satisfying her travel bug and taking in the outdoors on a great hike.

Andy Soni, Registered Physiotherapist, ADP Authorizer
Education & Training: Andy graduated from Gujarat University with a degree in physiotherapy in August 2012. Since November 2014 he has been a member in good standing with College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. Andy is also a member of Canadian Physiotherapy Association and Ontario Physiotherapy Association. He serves as clinical examiner at PCE prep course which helps the university graduates to prepare for the national Physiotherapy competency exams (PCE). He has got ADP Authorizer status with MOHLTC for the mobility device category so that he can prescribe wheelchairs and walkers for the patients who need them to meet their daily mobility needs. Andy keeps his skills up to date by attending ongoing courses offered by CPA and OPA. He also works in long term care home to provider geriatric care to the vulnerable population.

Areas of Practice: Musculoskeletal injuries and pathologies, neurological rehabilitation for stroke, Parkinsonism, multiple sclerosis, and spinal cord injury. He also works with pre- and post- operative rehabilitation, focusing on THR, TKR, spine surgery, and sports rehabilitation focusing on soft tissue and ligament injuries, as well as pre-natal, post-natal, geriatric rehabilitation, and motor vehicle accident (MVA) rehabilitation.

Andy customizes modalities such as ultrasound, TENS, IFC, LASER, and spinal traction to meet the needs of his patients. He uses a number of hands-on techniques (such as myofascial release) and provides appropriate exercise prescriptions and education.

Andy likes to travel with his wife (also a physiotherapist) whenever the two of them can take a break from their hectic schedule.

Renee Buchanan

Renee Buchanan, Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner and Acupuncturist
Education & Training: Renee is a Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner and Acupuncturist, registered
with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (www.ctcmpao.on.ca). She graduated from the Institute of  Traditional Medicine in 2007 and has been practicing in the Port Hope area ever
since. She looks forward to offering her services closer to her new home town of Whitby.

Areas of Practice:  Renee has been fully trained in the use of various adjunctive modalities such as Constitutional Facial Acupuncture
(sometimes called Cosmetic Acupuncture), cupping, gua sha (scraping), auricular and electro-acupuncture as well as Japanese Acupuncture. In addition to a general practice, Renee has developed a special interest in treatment for the following conditions:

  • Insomnia, depression & anxiety
  • Herpes zoster (shingles) and post-herpetic neuralgia
  • TMJ disorder and bruxism
  • Peripheral joint osteoarthritis
  • Labour preparation and induction for post-term pregnancies, malpresentation of foetus
  • Bell’s palsy
  • Side effects of chemotherapy (nausea, fatigue, etc.)
  • Sub-clinical digestive complaints (IBS, constipation, diarrhea, gas & bloating)
  • Headaches (migraine, cluster, tension type)

In her spare time Renee enjoys continuing education, hospice and palliative care (Hospice Peterborough), travel & the outdoors, squash, ukulele, plant-based cooking and gardening.

Sandra Wilbur, Administration, H.BA (Sociology)

Education & Training: Sandra Wilbur graduated from The University of Guelph with an H.BA in sociology/criminology. Sandra is a certified fitter for both compression wear and breast prosthetics. Sandra has completed the Level 2 Health & Safety training course, as well as courses in customer service and management.

Areas of Practice: Working in administration, Sandra is integral to the day-to-day functioning of the clinic, customer service, health and safety, and clinic management.

Sandra enjoys watching her two boys play baseball at the collegiate level and when not at the ball diamond you can usually find her at the hockey arena lacing up her skates for a game of ice hockey.
