What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a type of healthcare practice focused on the analysis and improvement of physical movement and function. Most importantly, physiotherapists look to improve a patient’s overall quality of life.

Your first appointment/assessment will take 1 hour to properly assess your condition and to provide treatment. The registered physiotherapist will clearly explain your treatment plan. Each subsequent treatment will be approximately 30 minutes with the physiotherapist. Treatment is provided exclusively by a physiotherapist to ensure quality of care.

Common services provided include:

  • Optimizing mobility, physical fitness and health
  • Injury and disability prevention
  • Managing physical restrictions and limitations
  • Improving overall physical performance and independence
  • Rehabilitating injuries
  • Providing education on the prevention of injury and functional decline
Shockwave treatments

Shockwave Therapy Information

When you choose Shockwave therapy, a high-intensity sound wave engages different tissues throughout your body. This leads to a host of benefits, including neovascularization ingrowth, cessation of chronic inflammation, stimulation of collagen and dissolution of calcium deposits. Stimulation of these parts of your body creates an optimal healing environment. As the injured area heals, functionality is restored and pain is relieved throughout your body.

Shockwave can be used to treat:

  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Achilles tendonopathy
  • Tennis elbow
  • Jumper’s knee
  • Hamstring injuries
  • Stress fractures
  • Calcific rotator cuff tendinitis
  • Bursitis
  • Trigger point therapy
  • Non-healing ulcers
  • Non-unions
  • Morton’s neuroma
  • Scar tissue treatment
  • Hallux rigidus
